Orange and Mustard Hand Woven Ikat Cushion | Kuda

Regular price £89.00

This stunning cushion is made from a hand-woven ikat found in Sumba. The symbols depict the horse, which is an important symbol in Sumbanese culture, representing power, wealth, and good fortune as well as the symbol used to represent femininity. Although this piece is modern and the colours are not natural dyes, they still stay true to the traditional colours of red and yellow used in Sumbanese textiles. This piece originally 1m by 1.5m would have taken up to 3 months to create and involved up to 10 skilled craftspeople.

Both fun and vibrant backed with terracotta linin, this cushion is a beautiful addition to any home, and who knows, maybe one that brings you good fortune!
